West Atlantic wave buoy heights reach 62ft!
The deep low pressure sweeping in from across the atlantic last Sunday and Monday recorded record wind speeds with up to 80mph gusts and this whipped up some huge waves. The buoys off Ireland's west coast were recording 62ft wave heights on the sets at midday on Monday. The storm pushed huge swell into the western British Isles, France, Spain and Portugal but none of the big waves spots like Belharra (as far as I know) were ridden.
