Its a given amongst big wave riders is that there is a limit to the size of wave that can be paddled into by human power alone (hence the introduction of jet skis and tow surfing), however that actual height limit has never been determined exactly....its certainly in the 30ft+ range. Having watched this film of Dorian and Healey surfing Waimea on Dec 7th 2009, the massive swell which hit the North Shore and kicked started the Eddie a day later, I think these lads have just about found the limit! How big do you think this wave was? judge for yourself...
